We are a small architectural firm located at the base of the Wasatch mountains in Utah.
We provide architectural services to a wide variety of clients. We specialize in client satisfaction, making every effort to learn about our clients and their needs and then design their projects to meet them. We pride ourselves on finding creative solutions to problems, including meeting clients' budgets.
We enjoy working on projects of all sizes, and work to have a finished building that is not only beautiful, but also that realizes lowered life-cycle costs for its owners.
In recent years we have found great benefit in using 3-dimensional design and documenting building information modeling (BIM) software on our projects. This software enables us to truly create a composition that will be seen and understood by our clients before construction begins. Additionally, we have done a great deal of research into sunstainable construction and high-performance insulation and building envelopes which can greatly reduce the life-cycle costs to the building owner.

Firm History
Founded by Denis W. Butler in 1989, Denis W. Butler & Associates has provided professional architectural services to the communities of Utah and several other states for over 20 years.
In January of 2008, long-time employees Mike Davey and Lafe Harris became partners in the firm, and the firm became B H D Architects.
We have successfully completed many educational, municipal, religious, retail, residential, industrial, and office facilities, including BOMA calculations, test fits, and space planning.
Firm Office
B H D Architects is located in Draper in new office space built in 2008, conveniently located adjacent to Bangerter Highway and I-15. We have a large conference room, reception area, and a design studio.
B H D Architects uses the latest computer equipment, software, and networking capabilities to speed production and increase its quality. For security purposes, we have a separate computer server dedicated to our FTP and website. Our servers are protected by software and hardware firewalls. Our data is backed up both manually onto portable media that is taken off-site, and automatically uploaded to an off-site storage service every night.
